Council Bluffs Teen Injured at Lake Manawa
COUNCIL BLUFFS - A Council Bluffs teenager was injured Monday afternoon after being thrown from a jet ski. Kristen Gerhardt, 17, bumped her head against another passenger when she and two others on a jet ski were ejected after making a sharp turn on Lake Manawa shortly before 3 p.m. on Monday. The three-passenger jet ski was being operated by Meagan Rogers, 17, Council Bluffs. Thomas Purgeon, 19, was the other passenger on the jet ski at the time of the incident. All three teenagers were wearing life jackets. Gerhardt was taken to Jennie Edmundson Hospital in Council Bluffs for medical treatment. The incident is still under investigation by the Department of Natural Resources.
