Iowa DNR Interactive Mapping, Water Web Help Files

Save Personal User Settings in Water Web Map:

In the Water Web Map you have the ability to save personal user settings so that next time you enter the Water Web, your preferred map that you create and save will appear by default. Unless you delete your browser temporary Internet files (cookies), the settings will be saved for one year. To use this feature you first need to zoom in on the interactive map to the desired location. Make sure to turn on the layers in the Legend that you want available to appear every time you enter the Water Web. Finally, select the Settings link in the banner menu, located directly below the Water Web banner at the top of the page. A new page will appear allowing you to create and save your settings:

Follow the instructions provided to save your personal settings. Once you choose the layers you want visible by default and the map that you want to appear, you can select the Save Settings link near the bottom of the page. To restore your settings to the default extent of the map with the default layers selected, choose the Clear Settings - Restore Default link at the bottom.
