Iowa DNR Interactive Mapping, Water Web Help Files
Search the Water Web by Beach Name:
Without using the interactive map, you can search the Water Web databases by beach name to retrieve current lake beach information available from the Iowa DNR Beach Monitoring database. Select the
Search link in the banner menu, located directly below the Water Web banner at the top of the page, to go to the
Water Web Search Page.
With the Search tool, choose Beach Name from the dropdown next to the
Select text. Following the
For text, type in all or part of the beach name that you are wanting to search on (this is not case sensitive). If you type the full name and a match is found, the associated data will immediately be returned. If you type in part of the name, you will have to pick from a list of possible matches before data is returned. Look at the example below (chose Beach Name as the searchable water feature and "Blue Lake Beach" as the unique name of the beach):
In the example above, only 1 match was found for "Blue Lake Beach". Thus, current beach monitoring data was returned immediately and was placed adjacent to the Search tool on the same page. Look at the image below (Blue Lake Beach example):
To view more of this beach information in a printable report-like datasheet, click on the
View Datasheet at the bottom of the returned lake beach information. Your web page will then be refreshed with a full datasheet, with maps included, for the selected beach and all other beaches available on the same lake.
