Query Data on Map:

  1. Make a layer active.

  2. In the Toolbar place your mouse over the icon Query Data Icon and a small pop-up message will tell you the function of the tool.

  3. Click the icon. Step-by-step query instructions will appear in the Information Bar.

  4. Follow these instructions carefully to perform both simple and complex queries.

  5. When you are finished with your the query instructions, you will click the Execute button to perform the query on the map. Or you can click the Clear button to start over. After executing a query, the results will be displayed in the Information Bar in an attribute table.

  6. In the attribute table, click on any hyperlinked number in the "Zoom To" field to zoom to that spatial feature. Or click on the "Zoom to these records" hyperlink at the bottom of the table to zoom to the extent of all of the spatial features in the table. If you click on one of the hyperlinked numbers in the "Zoom To" field, the spatial feature will be zoomed in and highlighted in yellow or orange on the Interactive Map. The yellow represents all of the spatial features that match your query, and the orange represents the unique feature that you selected to zoom in on. Look at the picture below:

  7. When you are finished using the query or want to start a new query, you should clear all selected features (yellow and orange). To do this, select the Clear Selection button.

Still experiencing problems? Make sure you have your pop-up blocker turned off.
