Iowa DNR Interactive Mapping, Help Files

Print Map:

  1. In the Toolbar place your mouse over the print map icon Print Map Icon and a small pop-up message will tell you the function of the tool.

  2. Click the icon. Step-by-step printing instructions will appear in the Information Bar.

  3. In the instructions that appear, you will give your map a title and click a button to create a print page. If after you click the Create Print Page button and nothing happens or your map defaults to the state scale, you most likely have a pop-up blocker enabled on your Internet browser. You need to adjust your pop-up blocker settings to allow pop-up windows from the IDNR Interactive Mapping website. Click here for instructions.

  4. In the new print page window that appears you will see the map title, the map, and the Iowa DNR website address below the map. All interactive maps are set to print to 8.5x11 paper size, with Landscape orientation. To set your paper orientation to Landscape, go to the menu at the top of the page, select File-Page Setup and change the page orientation from Portrait to Landscape. Click OK to set the changes.

  5. Finally, in the menu of the print page window, go to File-Print, select your printer, and click OK to send the map to the printer.

Still experiencing problems? Make sure you have your pop-up blocker turned off.
