Create a Buffer for Selected Features :
- Make a layer active.
- Make sure features are selected in the active layer. You can use the
Select by Box or
Select by Line or Polygon tool to select features.
- In the Toolbar place your mouse over the buffer select icon
 and a small pop-up message will tell you the function of the tool.
- Click the icon. Step-by-step instructions will appear in the
Information Bar.
- After clicking the Create Buffer button, the Interactive Map will zoom to the buffered area.
- When you are finished using the buffer or want to start a new buffer, you should clear all selected features (yellow and orange), and clear all gray buffers. To do this, select the
Clear Selection button.
