Legend DB:

Please note that the Legend DB is only available in the following mapping applications:

Anaerobic Digester
Hydrogeologic Atlas
Recreation Map
Water Monitoring Atlas
Watershed Atlas

All other mapping applications have the original Legend.

The Legend DB lists all of the layers that are available to view on the Interactive Map. As you zoom in on the map, more layers in the Legend can be visible, but all layers will be displayed at the state scale. The major features in the Legend DB follows:

Data layers are now organized in folders Clsoed Icon; the identical folder structure used on the NRGIS Library. Click the folder icon to open Opened Icon and see what layers are contained in the folders. Click the document icon Layer Icon to the far left of the layer name to view metadata or download the layer shapefile. Check the box Hidden Icon in front of the layer to make visible Visable Icon on the map. If the layer is only visible below a certain scale you will see this icon Scale Icon until you zoom in on the map when scale is reached. Check the round radio button Inactive Icon to make active Active Icon. Click the layer name text to view metadata or download. Click the label tag symbol to the right of the layer to turn on labels Label On Icon or off labels Labeloff Icon for the layer.

Finally, notice that the map is set to automatically refresh when you make layers visible or not visible and when you turn on/off labels. In the original Legend the user had to click the Redraw Map button to set layer changes. If you want to turn off the Auto Refresh feature, then check the box off below the Redraw Map button near the bottom of the Legend. Look here:

Auto Refresh

This is what the Legend DB looks like in an interactive map:
