How to Adjust Pop-up Blocker Settings:
If you are using Internet Explorer as your web browser, follow the steps below to adjust your pop-up blocker to allow pop-up windows in the IDNR Interactive Mapping website. If you don't want to adjust the pop-up blocker settings during your site visit, you can just disable your pop-up blocker by going to the Tools menu - Pop-up Blocker - Turn Off Pop-up Blocker.
- In your Internet Explorer browser window, click on the Tools menu at the top.
- Select Pop-Up Blocker from the drop-down menu list.
- Click Pop-Up Blocker Settings...
- In the new window that appears notice the blank space below the "Address of Web site to allow". In that space type in:
programs.iowadnr.com. Also type in the alternate web server at:
programs.iowadnr.gov. Click on the Add button and close the window.
- Pop-up windows will now be allowed for the IDNR Interactive Mapping website on your browser every time you visit. Look at the images below for help with the steps above:
Note: As a less recommended option to Steps 1-5 above, you can temporarily disable pop-up blocker by holding down the Control key (Ctrl) on your keyboard and clicking at the same time. This is only necessary for mouse clicks in which a pop-up window is supposed to be displayed after a click. Just remember you have to hold down your Ctrl key each time you click, and keep holding the Ctrl key down until the pop-up window is displayed.
If you are still experiencing problems with pop-up windows not appearing after following the steps above, make sure you don't have multiple pop-up blockers (like Google Search Bar pop-up blocker) enabled. If relevant, talk to your information technology support person about disabling pop-ups on your browser.
