Chapter 567--134.18(455B) of the Iowa Administrative Code requires UST
professionals to be licensed by the Department of Natural Resources. UST-licensed
professionals must be certified by the DNR’s UST Section in order to install new
underground storage tank systems or to upgrade or line existing regulated UST
systems in Iowa.
The DNR recently updated the Iowa Administrative Code for an increase in
liability coverage for licensed installers from $250K to $1M, and for all UST
installations, repairs, testing and closures in Iowa to be completed by an
individual licensed through the Iowa UST licensing program.
Inquiries about the UST licensing program should be made through
Sherry Blaisdell at (515)281-8865 or
sherry.blaisdell@dnr.iowa.gov.
A list of licensed professionals will be available on this page. If
you find an error or have a change in information, please contact
Sherry Blaisdell at (515)281-8865 or
sherry.blaisdell@dnr.iowa.gov.
Questions about the new UST licensing rules should be directed to
Tom Collins at (515)281-8879 or tom.collins@dnr.iowa.gov or
Paul Nelson at (515)281-8779 or paul.nelson@dnr.iowa.gov.
