Saddle Tank Spills Diesel Into Creek West of Sioux Center

SIOUX CENTER – A truck with a saddle tank crashed into a creek west of Sioux Center on County Road B40 in Sioux County. The driver was injured and taken to the hospital. Crews are removing the truck.

The saddle tank was ruptured, spilling up to 100 gallons of diesel and a few gallons of motor oil. The local fire department responded and put containment booms and pads in the creek to contain the spill.

The DNR is monitoring the cleanup.
