Dove Hunting 101 Offered at Banner Shooting Range Aug 10
Posted: 08/06/2013
Staff from the Banner Shooting Range and the Red Rock Wildlife Unit will provide beginning dove hunters an opportunity to learn about dove hunting in Iowa at 8:30 a.m., August 10, at the north concession building at the Banner Shooting Range.  Participants should arrive at 8:15.

The program will review what is needed to participate in dove hunting, including dove behavior, dove hunting regulations, equipment (clothing, firearms, ammunition, field accessories, etc.), safety and appropriate hunter behavior in the field, typical dove flight characteristics and where to hunt.

There will be optional range time for an additional fee. Five stand sporting clays will be set up with simulated dove hunting scenarios.
