Iowa Adult Online Only Hunter Education Course Now Available
Posted: 07/09/2013
Adults wanting to satisfy their hunter education requirement to purchase a hunting license have a new online-only option. Beginning July 1, Iowa residents 18 and older may take the Iowa hunter education course from two approved online providers: www.Huntercourse.com/usa/iowa and www.hunter-ed.com/iowa/

“We will continue to offer our traditional classroom course and online-field day course as options for younger students and encourage the older students with little or no firearms handling or hunting experience to consider that option as well so they can gain some firearms handling experience,” said Megan Wisecup, hunter education administrator for the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.

Both online course options provide a high quality learning experience through the use of videos, animations, and interactive exercises throughout the course.

To learn more about the Hunter Education Course, begin an online course, or to sign up for a field day or traditional classroom course visit:  www.iowadnr.gov/huntered

Hunters born on or after January 1, 1972 are required to complete hunter education in order to purchase an Iowa hunting license.
