State Park Campground Updates

The campground at Emerson Bay State Recreation Area on the southwest shore of West Okoboji Lake reopened Monday after a 13-month, nearly complete renovation.

All facilities at George Wyth State Park reopened on Monday.

At Yellow River State Forest, the Big Paint campground is closed through July. Little Paint and Frontier campgrounds are closed through September. Creekside campground is closed through the end of the season.  All equestrian trails are closed.

The boat ramp and boat ramp road are closed at Backbone State Park. All other facilities are open.
The restroom, shower facilities and dump stations at Geode State Park are closed.

The campground is open and water hydrants and electricity are available.

Wilson Island State Recreation Area closed for all uses on July 1 for the second phase of construction following the flood of 2011. The anticipated reopening date is May 2014.
