Premier Art Event Coming to Southeast Iowa
Posted: 03/19/2013
Historic Hills Scenic Byway is excited to partner with Honey Creek Resort State Park and the City of Fairfield to bring a premier art event to southeast Iowa.

Art on the Lake is a collaborative venture to promote and celebrate artists and their work throughout the state of Iowa. This event is free to the public and scheduled to take place at Honey Creek Resort on April 6 and 7. Featuring local artists, musicians, and live demonstrations, the whole family is sure to enjoy the two-day event.

Artists are encouraged to start the weekend by attending Fairfield’s 1st Friday Art Walk on April 5. On Saturday, the event will begin at noon and run until 6 p.m. at Honey Creek Resort. Saturday evening will feature many delicious food and beverage specials at Rathbun Lakeshore Grille. Emerging country artist, Mitch Goudy, will perform evening entertainment. Sunday will begin at 10 a.m. and go until 5 p.m.
Throughout the event, you can stroll through vendors, a display of local high school artwork and possibly catch a live demonstration.  Local vocalists will also be performing throughout the event.

Special room rates have been negotiated for artists and attendees. Call Honey Creek Resort to make your reservations at 877-677-3344.  If you are an artist and interested in securing a vendor space, please call Morgan at 641-724-1407.
