DNR Drinking Water Section and Des Moines Field Office to Move in January
Thursday, December 12, 2013 by Iowa DNR

DES MOINES – The DNR’s Des Moines field office and two drinking water sections will move in January to new locations.

The move will consolidate the offices where DNR staff are already located, providing cost efficiencies and better customer service.

The field office, currently on S. W. Seventh St. in Des Moines, will relocate on Jan. 3, 2014. Staff will move to the Windsor Heights DNR office, 7900 Hickman Road, Suite 200. The phone numbers for field office staff remain the same.

“We anticipate the move taking between two and three weeks, because cubicles will need to be torn down and reassembled,” said Ted Petersen, supervisor. “Our staff will be in temporary quarters, but they will be available by email or phone, and can meet with customers at the Hickman Road location.”

Currently co-located with the field office, the water supply sections will move about Jan. 10 to the Wallace State Office Building, 502 E. Ninth St. in Des Moines. The phone numbers for water supply staff will remain the same.

The staff will be housed in temporary offices as the move proceeds, but will be checking phone messages and responding to emails, and can meet with customers in the Wallace building.

The water section move is expected to be complete in early February.

The water supply sections include Water Supply Operations, Water Supply Engineering, Operator Certification, Lab Certification and the State Revolving Fund.
