CEDAR RAPIDS — Marking five years since the floods of 2008, Bill Ehm, head of the DNR’s Environmental Services Division, will speak about the ongoing impacts of the floods at an upcoming panel discussion.
Part of the Living with Floods 2013 series, Ehm will participate on the Post-Flood Watershed Challenges and Opportunities panel May 31. The panel is part of the "Five Years Out: Ongoing Impacts and Challenges of the 2008 Floods" symposium in Cedar Rapids.
The symposium will commemorate the anniversary of recent flood events, celebrate progress made toward recovery and raise awareness of flood mitigation strategies and the interconnectedness of Iowa’s environment and watersheds. It is presented by The University of Iowa's Public Policy Center and Iowa Flood Center.
