Air Quality Construction Permit Section Names New Supervisor

Catharine Fitzsimmons, Chief of the Air Quality Bureau, is pleased to announce that Sarah Piziali has accepted the position of Supervisor of the Air Quality Construction Permit Section. Sarah will be replacing Dave Phelps, who is retiring after 33 years with Air Quality.
Sarah has worked at the Air Quality Bureau since 2002, in the Air Construction Permit Section. As an Environmental Engineer she worked as a member of our team helping to achieve the most aggressive permit issuance rates nationally by participating in and helping implement Process Improvement efforts in Air Quality and at the University of Northern Iowa air assistance program. Sarah’s work as an Environmental Engineer Senior has led to the development of a draft plan to resolve violations of ambient air quality standards. Prior to joining the DNR team, Sarah worked for Monsanto, and received her BS in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University.
