EPA Extends Comment Period for Engine Proposal (RICE NESHAP)
EPA is proposing to amend air toxics and performance standards for stationary internal combustion engines. These federal regulations are typically referred to as the RICE NESHAP and Engine NSPS.*
EPA has extended the public comment period for proposed amendments to August 9, 2012. EPA will also hold a public hearing on the proposal in Washington D.C. on July 10, 2012.
Stationary engines generate electricity and power equipment at industrial, agricultural, oil and gas production, power generation, and other facilities. The EPA estimates there are over 1 million of these engines in the U.S. and this proposal would apply to some of these engines.
