PARKERSBURG –A public meeting to discuss forest management on the Big Marsh and Shell Rock Bend Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs) will be held at 7 p.m., March 26, at the Parkersburg City Hall.
Forest management is important to improve the overall quality of trees, shrubs, and plants and improve habitat for numerous wildlife species on Iowa’s wildlife management areas. Forest and wildlife professionals with the Iowa DNR developed a management plan to benefit the forest wildlife on Big Marsh and Shell Rock Bend WMAs. This plan includes forest management such as burning, planting, and harvesting.
The public is invited to discuss details regarding the Forest Wildlife Stewardship Plan for Big Marsh and Shell Rock Bend WMAs. Those attending will be provided an opportunity to ask questions following a short presentation.
