9/24/2013 3:26:47 PM
EPA is accepting comments on its proposed carbon pollution standard for new power plants. The proposed standards will put national limits on the amount of carbon pollution that new power plants, built in the future, are allowed to emit.
The proposed rule called “Standards of Performance for Greenhouse Gas Emissions for New Stationary Sources: Electric Utility Generating Units” is posted at: http://www2.epa.gov/carbon-pollution-standards.
EPA will accept comments on the proposed rule for sixty days after it is published in the Federal Register. Comments should be made directly to EPA via the options listed in the proposed rule.
EPA will also hold a public hearing in Washington, DC on this proposal. When available, the date and time of the public hearing will be published in the Federal Register and on the website listed above.
