Wastewater Discharge in LeClaire
Posted: 07/09/2014

The city of LeClaire in Scott County ended a wastewater discharge Wednesday morning after a resident notified them of wastewater bubbling up out of a manhole near Cobblestone Lane and 195th St.

An unknown amount of wastewater has discharged, flowing overland towards a tributary of Spencer Creek. The discharge likely began after routine maintenance of the pumps on July 8.

The city is liming the area around the manhole. Residents should keep children and pets away from the area and the creek for 24 to 48 hours.
