Sanitary Sewer Leak Causes 50,000 Gal Flow to Dry Gully
Posted: 01/29/2014
CORALVILLE – A sanitary sewer leak reported at 9:25 p.m. Tuesday, caused an unknown amount of wastewater to flow overnight across a residential driveway at 831 Timber Court in Coralville, along the curb, and into a dry gully, north of Interstate 80.

At 8:20 a.m. the source of the leak was determined to be a two-inch air-release pipe on the force main from the Brown Deer lift station. The lift station pumps were shut off, the manhole pumped out and the leak repaired by 10:15 a.m.

The area is being cleaned. People and pets should avoid this area for 48 hours.
