SCTP Events & Results

2015 Iowa High School State Wide Spring League
Starting on April 1, 2015, all Iowa high schools are invited to participate in the state-wide Iowa High School Trap League. This league will allow local teams to get together and conduct a competition match. Each event consists of 25 targets at 16 yds. and 25 targets at 19 yds.  Results from each match will be recorded and posted to the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation website creating a friendly, state-wide, electronic competition. Top teams and individuals from the state-wide league will be recognized and awards will be presented at each respective state event.

Sporting Clays: April 1 through May 24, 2015
Sporting clays league will run from April 1- May 24, and is open to all SCTP registered teams.  The league will consist of 3 scores of 50 targets with at least one score being shot at a different sporting clays facility.  Only one score from a 5-stand will count towards the league total, however all three scores may be shot on walking courses.  It will be possible to shoot the same course two times in one day provided the menu is different at each stand. A total of 150 targets must be shot to complete the league. Persons or teams may shoot as many targets as they wish with the three highest scores being counted, at least one from a different shooting facility.

Skeet: April 1 through May 24, 2015
Skeet league will run from April 1- May 24, and is open to all SCTP registered teams. The league will consist of 3 scores of 50 targets with at least one score being shot at a different skeet facility. A total of 150 targets must be shot to complete the league. Persons or teams may shoot as many targets as they wish with the three highest scores being counted, at least one from a different shooting facility.

Trap: April 1 through May 24, 2015
The trap league will consist of 200 targets shot over 4 or more 50 target league events (best scores counted).  Half of the scores shot must be at a different venue to count towards league awards and all-state teams.

All shoots must be scheduled on the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation website by the Shoot Director (typically the head coach) at least 14 days prior to the date of the shoot. All scores for teams and individuals must be posted to the SHOT 5 system within 3 days of the conclusion of the event. Results from any event on the last day of the season must be posted to the SHOT 5 system within 24 hours.

2015 State Championships

Coaches must register their teams through www.sssfonline.org for all events. Please consult the complete Shoot Program for more information 2015 Shoot Program

Junior Olympic Skeet Championships - May 23-24, 2015, New Pioneer Gun Club, Waukee
The 2015 Iowa Junior Olympipc Skeet Championship event will consist of 125 total targets. 75 targets will be shot on Satuday, MAy 23, and 50 targets shot on Sunday, May 24. The event will conclude with a fun finale with flash targets after the 50 targets on Sunday. This is for fun only and will have no bearing on the 125 target competition. This event will be open to all eligible Scholastic Clay Target Programs and will have divisions for Sub-Junior (age 14 and under), Intermediate Junior (age 15-17), and Junior (age 18-20).

SCTP Skeet Championships - May 30-31, 2015, New Pioneer Gun Club, Waukee
This SCTP event will consist of 100 skeet targets. This event will be open to all eligible Scholastic Clay Target Programs and will have divisions for rookie (5th grade and below), intermediate (6th-8th grades), senior (9th-12th grades) and collegiate. High school All State skeet teams will be assembled based on the event.

Trap - June 4-7, 2015, Iowa State Trapshooting Association Homegrounds, Cedar Falls
There will be two competition events conducted from June 4-7. Camping, parking, and vendor information is available in the 2015 Shoot Program.

SCTP Trap Championships June 4-6, 2015
This SCTP event will consist of 200 trap targets for the Senior Division and 100 targets for the Intermediate and Rookie Divisions. The event is open to all eligible SCTP programs. The senior division will shoot 100 targets on Thursday, June 4 and 100 targets on Friday, June 5, with shoot-offs and awards to follow.  Rookie and Intermediates will shoot 100 targets on Satuday, June 6.

High School Trap Championships June 6-7, 2015
This 100 target event is open only to high school (grades 9-12) shooters who have also completed all 200 targets in the High School Trap League. High School All-State trap teams and individuals will be honored based on the cumulative total of the 200 trap league targets plus the 100 targets shot in this event. Completion of the 200 target Invitational League is a prerequisite to participate in this event. The 50 targets from 16 yds will be shot on Saturday, June 6, and the 50 targets from 19 yds will be shot on Sunday, June 7, with shoot-offs and awards to follow.

The 2015 Iowa Junior Olympipc Trap Championship event will consist of 125 total targets. This event will be open to all eligible Scholastic Clay Target Programs and will have divisions for Sub-Junior (age 14 and under), Intermediate Junior (age 15-17), and Junior (age 18-20).

SCTP Sporting Clays Championships - June 20, 2015, Mahaska County Izaak Walton League
This SCTP event will consist of 150 sporting clays targets for senior and collegiate divisions and 100 sporting clay targets for rookie and intermediate divisions. This event will be open to all eligible Scholastic Clay Target Programs and will have divisions for rookie (5th grade and below), intermediate (6th-8th grades), senior (9th-12th grades) and collegiate. High school All State sporting clays teams will be assembled based on the event.
