List of NPDES Permittees in Iowa

The Permit Listing files linked below contain information on facilities that hold NPDES and operation permits and are authorized to discharge wastewater to surface waters in Iowa.  The files contain the name, address, discharge location, and other commonly requested information on each permitted discharger.  The EXCEL file can be downloaded and manipulated to provide customized lists of information, and the pdf file can be downloaded in the event EXCEL is not installed on your computer.

Viewing Draft and Final NPDES Permits and Permit Delay Reasons

Individual draft and final (active) NPDES permits, such as city or industry wastewater permits, can be searched and viewed on the Wastewater Permit Information Exchange System (WWPIE).  The permit delay reasons, or reasons why a particular permit has not been reissued yet, are also listed in WWPIE.  Follow the instructions on the WWPIE home page or in the WWPIE User Manual to search and view permits and any reasons for delays in permit reissuance.  Iowa operation permits are also available for viewing on WWPIE.

Please note, coverages under general Permits Nos. 1 - 7 are not included in WWPIE and facilities covered by these permits will not appear in the WWPIE search.  Only final and draft individual, non-storm water NPDES and operation permits are included in WWPIE.  Expired, closed, and revoked permits are not searchable or available in WWPIE.
