If you believe your project does not need a flood plain development permit, you can submit information to the DNR and receive written confirmation about whether a permit is needed. Simply follow these steps. Step One: Permit Determination Checklist Choose your project type from the chart below, then complete the forms associated with that project to determine if you need a floodplain development permit. Step Two: Complete the Joint Application If you have determined a floodplain development permit is not needed, you still need to apply for a sovereign lands permit and U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit through the joint application form. Once this form is complete, attach the determination forms from Step One above to the joint application form and send three copies (two to the DNR and one to the Army Corp.
