IOWATER Program Coordinator and Research Geologist
Mary started working for the Iowa DNR - Iowa Geological Survey in 1991. Since 1991, she has been involved in several agency-wide projects with impacts on water quality. In particular, Mary coordinated a statewide pesticide database to track occurrences in Iowa's water resources. In January 2000, she started working for the Watershed Monitoring and Assessment Section (WMAS). Among other things for the Section, Mary currently coordinates and analyzes data from the statewide Ambient Water Monitoring Program. She also serves as the IOWATER Volunteer Monitoring Program Coordinator. Mary earned her B.S. and M.A. degrees in geography from the University of Iowa, and in 1999 she completed her Ph.D. in environmental science.
