Community forestry grant opportunities 

Sustainable Urban Forestry For Iowa communities over 5,000

Iowa Department of Natural Resources Forestry Bureau has received a federal grant through the USDA Forest Service to assist communities with population greater than 5,000 by training and educating city staff, tree board members, and active community members in order to enable each community to develop and maintain a sustainable forestry program.  For information and application for training, please click on the links below.  Application deadline:  September 1, 2014.

Trees for Kids/Trees for Teens Grant

This grant is designed to provide hands-on learning opportunities and to connect youth with nature by planting trees on school grounds and other public areas.  This grant provides funding for $1,000 – 5,000 per entity for trees and mulch.  Grants are awarded each spring and fall.  The most current grant application and instructions are below:
