Lake Macbride State Park - Johnson County
  • “Temporary Closures of Beach area parking lot on Weekends and Holidays” We limit the amount of vehicles coming into the beach area once the parking lot is full, in order to protect the public and have safe access for emergency vehicles. When the parking is full, people will tend to park along the roadway which inhibits safe traffic flow and can cause problems for the public. During these times, we will close down traffic going to the beach area for a limited time in order to allow for parking spots to open back up by those leaving the area. This can happen from Memorial Weekend thru Labor Day Weekend and as early as 11 am. Signs will be posted at the park entrance to let you know if this is occurring. Consider visiting on weekdays in these busy summer months.
