Natural Resource Commission to meet June 14 in Decorah

DECORAH– The Natural Resource Commission (NRC) of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources will meet at 8:30 a.m. on June 14, in Room 102 of Olin Hall at Luther College, 700 College Drive, in Decorah.

On June 13, commissioners will tour Fort Atkinson State Preserve, 303 Second Street Northwest, Fort Atkinson, beginning at 11 a.m. They will meet again at 1:30 p.m. at Mabe’s Pizza, 110 East Water Street, in Decorah, for presentations and field tour. At 3:45 p.m., commissioners will attend the dedication of the Chuck Gipp Decorah Fish Hatchery at 2321 Siewers Spring Road, in Decorah.

The tour, presentations, dedication and meeting is open to the public.

Members of the NRC are Kim Francisco, Dennis Schemmel, Margo Underwood, Marcus Branstad, Phyllis Reimer, Tom Prickett and Laura Hommel.  The acting director of the DNR is Bruce Trautman.
