Hybopsis storeriana
- Characteristics - body color varies from green on the back with purple reflections to bright silvery on the belly, with a greenish colored band running from behind the gill covers to the tail, large fins and eyes
- Distribution - scattered throughout Iowa streams but most frequently found in the Mississippi, Des Moines, Skunk, and Nishnabotna Rivers
- Foods - zooplankton, insect larvae and chironomids
- Adult Length - 8 inches
