Ichthyomyzon castaneus
- Characteristics - upper body is silvery or bluish fading to light beneath, dorsal fin is continuous, teeth are nearly all bicuspid (double pointed)
- Distribution - found only in the Missisippi River where it is rare, usually it is attached to a host fish when captured
- Foods - parasitic on other fish, sucking blood of host fish
- Adult Length - 8 - 13 inches
