- Companies that improve energy efficiency practices also decrease waste streams, and vise versa.
- Recycled products take significantly less energy to produce than those made from virgin ore materials. For example, recycling one soda can saves the equivalent amount of energy as filling that can half-full with motor oil.
- Waste materials can serve as potential energy resources. Methane from decomposing garbage and wood waste are both viable energy sources.
