Floodwaters Close George Wyth State Park for Memorial Day Weekend
George Wyth State Park will remain closed through the holiday weekend due to flooding from the Cedar River.
The DNR will provide status updates as part of the message on the park phone system at 319-232-5505.
The park could potentially reopen for day use activities on Monday if there is no additional rainfall in the Cedar River watershed. The campground will likely remain closed until Wednesday to allow floodwater to recede and electricians to check the electrical boxes.
All reservations for the days affected will be offered full refunds.
