DESCRIPTION:The hike will start at the EB Lyons Interpretive Center which has wonderful exhibits and displays of the parks natural and cultural history. The hike will take place on the Pine Chapel and Lead Mine Trails just outside of the interpretive center. Hikers will see the 1850s Pine Chapel\, remnants of other structures from the Otto Junkerman Farm\, lead mine and pit mine. Hikers should be on the lookout for the Pileated woodpecker and other song birds\, deer and wild turkey. The interpretive center will be open for those that cannot go on the hike. Hot chocolate\, coffee and cookies will be provided after the hike.Hikers should bring water bottles\, binoculars and dress in warm clothes.Pets are not allowed at this event as they are not allowed in the interpretive center.For more information call the park at 563/556-0620.
