Surface Coating Stakeholder Meeting Planned

The DNR Air Quality Bureau, University of Northern Iowa - Iowa Waste Reduction Center (IWRC) and Iowa Department of Economic Development (IDED) will be meeting with stakeholders on July 15th to discuss new federal regulations affecting miscellaneous surface coating operations at area sources. This initial meeting is targeted at representatives from autobody refinishing facilities and paint manufacturers that are classified as area sources for hazardous air pollutants (HAP). This meeting will provide the participants an overview of the rule and will provide input to DNR on its implementation in Iowa.

Based on the feedback received at the meeting, the DNR, IWRC and IDED will provide outreach materials, compliance assistance and training opportunities to additional stakeholders. Additional information will be posted after the meeting.
