Second Title V Fee Cap Meeting

A second public meeting to discuss changing the Title V fee cap is scheduled for June 5 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. in the Air Quality Bureau (AQB) conference rooms at 7900 Hickman Road in Urbandale. The AQB plans to initiate a rulemaking this summer to reset the cap on fees paid by sources subject to the Title V operating permit program. AQB staff will share budget projections and continue discussions started in the first meeting on a new fee cap level.

The Title V fee is currently limited in administrative rule to $39/ton of actual emissions. Budget projections for SFY 2010 and beyond indicate that the Title V fee will need to be raised. The AQB staff will also discuss various program funding options that could be realized through fees on air construction permitting activities.
