Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council to Meet September 3 and 4

To complete its goal-setting deadline required by the 2008 General Assembly, the Iowa Climate Change Advisory Council (ICCAC) will hold a two-day meeting next week at the DNR Air Quality Building at 7900 Hickman Road, Suite 100, in Urbandale. Actions will include approval of policy options from the various subcommittees, a look at initial quantification results pertaining to potential greenhouse gas emission reductions and costs, and a discussion of goal options.

Public comments will be heard at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 3, and at 11 a.m., Thursday, September 4. Those who intend to make public comment should sign in upon arrival to speak during the public comment period. Presentations may be restricted to five minutes or less, depending on time available.

The complete agenda is posted on the Internet at www.iaclimatechange.us/capag.cfm; select Meeting #6 Notice and Agenda.

ICCAC is the governor-appointed council created by Senate File 485 during the 2007 General Assembly charged with recommending short, medium and long term reduction goals, as well as developing multiple scenarios to lower statewide greenhouse gas emissions.
