SPARS Web Will be Upgraded This Weekend

Febraury 22, 2007

During the weekend of Feb. 24th and 25th, SPARS Web will not be available due to system upgrades. These upgrades will allow Air Quality Bureau’s customers the ability to access SPARS Web with either Internet Explorer 6 or Internet Explorer 7. It is expected that SPARS Web will be accessible again on Monday, Feb. 26th.

After the upgrades are completed, customers with IE6 will be able to access SPARS Web as usual.

Customers with IE7 will need to do the following in order to access SPARS Web:

  1. If applicable, uninstall Appeon, making sure to remove the file named: EonUISpace Class
  2. Turn off all pop-up blockers
  3. Re-install Appeon, which is available at http://aq48.dnraq.state.ia.us/spars

Because IE7 seems to go through a series of security checks, the Appeon accelerator might go through a three-stage installation process. If this happens, customers should follow the instructions given at each stage.

For any problems during the Appeon installation process, please e-mail the SPARS Helpdesk at spars_hd@mail.dnraq.state.ia.us or call the AQB at 515-242-5100.
