Concrete Batch Plant Templates

April 14, 2006

The DNR is no longer accepting applications submitted on the Concrete Batch Plant General Permit Template. The template was set to handle vertical exhaust from baghouses, instead of horizontal exhausts more common for this industry type. Horizontal stacks as well as emissions from truck loading will require additional modeling to review the impact. DNR staff are currently working on the modeling as well as working with the Iowa Ready Mix Association and the Iowa Concrete Pavers Association to develop a new permit template. Until the new template is available, applications for new concrete batch plants or modifications to existing concrete batch plants should be submitted using the standard air construction permit application forms. Application forms are available on our website at:

www.iowacleanair.com/prof/const/conform.html

Please call Dave Phelps, DNR construction permit supervisor, at 515-281-8189 with any questions related to the templates. If you have questions on how to fill out a construction permit application, please call the air construction permit hotline at 1-877-AIR-IOWA (1-877-247-4692). The construction permit hotline is answered Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30 PM.
