outfitters at the Winnebago Water Trail designation

Attention Livery Owners and Operators:
Livery Training Class Scheduled For march 25th, 2014
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources will be conducting a free training class for livery/outfitters on March 25th. this is your chance to become a prefered operator as all who take the class will be awarded continued special recognition on both the DNR website and throughout other media. Let the public know that you have went the extra mile in making they have a safe, enjoyable and respectful time on Iowa's rivers. Those outfitters who have participated in the past will recieve the recognition, but you are highly encourged to take the class again as we will be focusing on our new "Keep It Clean, Keep It Fun (for everyone)" campaign which was rolled out on twa few rivers last summer and was deemed a huge success. You will recieve materials to take back with you and also get a bundle of brand new mesh trash sacks made from a tougher material than the last sacks and also feature the new campaign artwork. Liveries who can not attend the class can still request to be sent materials like posters and boat stickers. You'll be much better off to attend this free class so please hurry and reserve a spot now as class size will be limited.

•March 25th, 2014 @ the Osborne Nature Center near Strawberry Point in NE Iowa

The class is a one day training with approximate hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and goals will include understanding river management, developing risk management plans, litter control strategies, how to implement the new "Keep It Clean" campaign and we will also touch on updating any rule and regulation changes.  Please email todd.robertson@dnr.iowa.gov to sign up and get more information. There is no fee.

Class instructors are: Nate Hoogeveen, IDNR River Programs Director and Todd Robertson, IDNR Outreach Coordinator for Rivers and Water Trails. Both are experineced, certified canoe instructors through the American Canoe Association.
