      <title>River Access Near Hamburg Closed Due to High Water</title>
      <description>RIVERTON, Iowa - The Iowa Department of Natural Resources has closed the Goldenrod Access to the Nishabotna River, which is on the east edge of Hamburg, to all boat traffic except for emergency vessels.&amp;nbsp; The access to the Nishnabotna River was closed due to high water and unsafe conditions from Goldenrod downstream to the confluence with the Missouri River.</description>

      <description>A handful of campsites with electricity remain available for reservation in Iowa&amp;rsquo;s state parks for the busiest weekend of the summer.&amp;nbsp; As of Tuesday morning, Lake Keomah, Honey Creek, Maquoketa Caves, Pikes Peak, Pilot Knob and Red Haw state parks each have a site or a few sites remaining for the July 4 weekend.&amp;nbsp; All other parks have filled, except for handicap accessible sites.</description>

      <title>Avoid Areas of Heavy Smoke Near Fireworks Displays</title>
      <description>As spectacular as fireworks can be, the fine particles in smoke from fireworks can cause breathing problems for some if the air is stagnant. During these conditions, fine particles can be trapped near the ground and build to unhealthful levels. An air pollution monitor in Davenport recorded unhealthful levels of fine particles after Fourth of July fireworks in 2008.</description>

      <title>New Iowa BWI Law Begins July 1</title>
      <description>Iowa will have a new, lower limit for boating while intoxicated beginning July 1. The new .08 blood alcohol concentration (BAC), signed into law this spring, is intended to reduce vessel accidents, injuries and fatalities caused by alcohol impaired boat operators. The previous blood alcohol limit was .10.</description>
