Follow Park Madness on Facebook

Take time this March to fill out another kind of bracket and support your local state park. Join the DNR’s Park Madness on Facebook, and be in the running to win a free weekend of camping.

Beginning March 18, two state parks from each quadrant of the state will face off to determine which park will be Park Madness Champion. To vote for a park, watch the DNR’s Facebook page at on the dates below for Park Madness posts. Be sure to “like” the DNR’s page while you’re there to see future Park Madness posts.

The tournament schedule is as follows:

On April 5, vote in the championship round – following the instructions on that night’s Facebook post – and while you’re there, also enter for a chance to win two free nights of camping at the “championship” park (winner chosen at random).

Contest Rules

All entries must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. central time April 6, 2015. Enter via the online form on this page. The winner will be notified April 7 via email. If the DNR does not receive a response from the winner by April 14, another winner will be selected.

No purchase is necessary to enter or win, and this drawing is void where prohibited. To be eligible to participate in the drawing, you must be a U.S. citizen or permanent U.S. legal resident, and must be at least 18 years old on the date of the drawing. Employees of the Iowa Department of Natural Resources and their immediate family members (defined as spouse and minor children) are not eligible for any prizes that may be given away as part of the drawing. Only one prize – two free nights of camping in an electric campsite (excluding sewer or water hook-up fees and equestrian fees) in the winning park valued at approximately $32 - will be available for the drawing and shall be non-transferable. All information provided by participants shall constitute a public record and shall be treated accordingly pursuant to Iowa Code chapter 22. You are hereby notified that the Iowa Department of Natural Resources is immune from liability and suit for your participation in this drawing, including your participation to the extent it effects third parties thereby.
