Antidegradation

Iowa's Antidegradation Policy rule - 567 IAC 61.2(2) - became effective in State rules on February 17, 2010 and was approved by EPA on September 30, 2010. When required, Antidegradation alternatives analyses must be completed in accordance with the rule and the Iowa Antidegradation Implementation Procedure and submitted to Wastewater Engineering Section for wastewater construction projects and coordinated with the Iowa DNR project manager for the specific project.  For technical assistance regarding Antidegradation, please contact Larry Bryant, P.E. at Larry.Bryant@dnr.iowa.gov or 515-281-6759.  Wastewater Engineering Section procedures and an updated manual can be found on the Wastewater Construction Permits Webpage
