The Black Hawk Lake Fisheries Management Station is located in Black Hawk Lake State Park in Lake View. The team consists of a biologist and technician. They manage public fishing waters in Cherokee, Buena Vista, Pocahontas, Woodbury, Ida, Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Monona, Crawford, Carroll, and Greene Counties. Some of the larger and more popular bodies of water in this area are: Storm Lake, Black Hawk Lake, North Twin Lake, Brushy Creek Lake and the Little Sioux and Raccoon Rivers. A few of the activities undertaken by this management team include: 
  • Surveying and assessing fish populations in lakes and rivers
  • Shallow lakes management on several small natural lakes
  • Satellite walleye hatchery on Storm Lake
  • Watershed management and lake restoration on natural lakes
