Habitat & Access Program (IHAP)
Through the new Iowa Habitat and Access Program (IHAP), Iowa landowners open their land to public hunting and in turn receive funding and expertise for habitat improvements. In its pilot year, IHAP has enrolled 1,366 acres in 9 different counties that are now open for walk-in public hunting from September 1 - May 31, 2011.

Iowa has about 356,000 acres of public land available for hunting and recreational use.
