The DNR presents an exciting way to learn about energy and waste topics - a mobile education trailer!
What is it?
The "Cause and Effect: Your Eco Story" exhibit, is an all-inclusive experience that includes informative displays, interactive kiosks, educational videos and more.
Come Inside
The exhibit is equipped with touch screen computer games, flat screen TVs and interactive displays.
The exhibit showcases:
- Sustainability
- Recycling
- Household Hazardous Materials
- Water Conservation
- Energy Conservation
We bring the exhibit to you! Greenstar in Des Moines transports the trailer before and after events. It is also handicapped accessible, heated and air conditioned so it can be used year-round. Please note, the Department does not provide staff for mobile education events.

Become part of the Planet Patrol:
Check out the Planet Patrol series of short environmental videos by kids for kids (10 to 15 year olds). Each vignette provides information related to environmental stewardship and specific actions Iowa youth and their families can take around the house to reduce their environmental footprint.

Science teachers, environmental educators, recycling coordinators, event managers, community leaders and solid waste professionals are also encouraged to use the exhibit for their events.
To request the exhibit, register online. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Please register as soon as possible to reserve the exhibit for your event. A deposit of $500 is required to secure your reservation and will be refunded upon return and inspection of the exhibit.
