Agriculture Conference Call Meetings
Each month DNR holds an ag conference call meeting is to discuss issues related to animal feeding operations, ensuring consistency in implementing state law and rule provisions. For more information about the meetings, contact Cindy Martens at the Spencer DNR Field Office at 712.262.4177 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Animal Feeding Operations Database provides an easy way to look up information about livestock and poultry operations regulated by the DNR. Find locations, animal numbers, construction reviews, environmental or geological reviews, and details on nutrient plans, storage structures and production areas. Producers can also find due dates for their manure management plans. The reports function can also provide statistics on numbers and types of permits issued.
A wide range of maps are available from the DNR’s geographic services concerning animal feeding operations. For example, the AFO Siting Atlas can be used to determine potential building sites that meet state regulatory requirements.
Data on confinements or open feedlots are available, from numbers of operation to summaries of building permit requests.
