Archery, Becoming an Outdoors Woman workshop

Camps & Workshops

BOW - Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (held annually in the spring and fall)
Becoming an Outdoors-Woman ("BOW") is a workshop aimed primarily at women; however, it is an opportunity for anyone 18 years or older to learn outdoor skills usually associated with hunting and fishing, but useful for many outdoor pursuits.


Fly Tying & Fishing (held annually in October)
The Fly Fishing & Tying Outdoor Experience is designed to allow inexperienced fly fishers and tyers the opportunity to obtain the knowledge and skills to fully appreciate these activities. Participants age 16 or older (unless accompanied by an adult) will explore all aspects of the sport with hands-on activities including tying flies, casting a fly rod, and hopefully catching the big one!


OJ - Outdoor Journey for Girls (held annually in June, July and August)
Outdoor Journey for Girls (OJ) is designed to expose girls aged 12 - 15yrs to the outdoors through hands-on experiences including canoeing, water safety, camping, survival, hunter education and fishing.


Youth Hunter Education Challenge (held annually in June)
Iowa YHEC (Youth Hunter Education Challenge) is a weekend-long event that takes place each June at the 4-H Education and Natural Resources Center in Madrid, Iowa. Youth from all over Iowa come to compete in eight events, learn about the outdoors, and have fun with other youth and adults that have similar interests.
