In advance of the 100th anniversary of Iowa's state park system in 2020, the Iowa DNR is developing plans for future recreation opportunities that are compatible with the resources in each state park. As the plans are developed, they will be posted to this web page where you will be able to review them. There will be an opportunity in the future to provide comment on the plans.
The Iowa DNR recognizes Iowans place a high value on their parks and outdoor recreation activities. Regardless of what draws you to state parks, they are an important component of communities, life, and the environment. This is a wonderful time for parks as Iowa's state park system approaches its centennial; the future of recreation growth in each state park holds many exciting opportunities.
