DAYTON – The city of Dayton lifted a boil advisory today that has been in effect for two and one-half weeks.
Water samples taken earlier this week tested safe, after the city completed ongoing repairs to the water tower and restored stable water pressure in this Webster County town.
The city lost power the night of June 18, causing a nearly complete loss of water pressure. Routine repairs to the water tower had already created low and variable water pressure. The boil advisory was issued as a precaution, because of the potential for bacterial contamination when pressure drops in the distribution system.
